Chapter Challenge: Be A Star

September's program is a challenge! Not that it will be difficult, this chapter challenge will be a fun way of using our Outreach to help our community.
This month we will design, stitch, and finish a handmade felt star to be donated to the Golisano Children’s Hospital. Let's share our stitching talents to bring comfort and joy to local children and their families!
The Project Details for the Chapter Challenge
The finished project should roughly be around 5" and will be a front and back piece.
Needle Art Technique:
Embroidery
Materials
Embroidery Floss; any that you have
Felt or Wool
Ribbon; to create a hanger
Stuffing
Supplies
Needle: A standard embroidery needle
Miscellaneous: Scissors, pins, stick to stuff corners
Challenge Requirements
Must be made of felt or wool.
Must have either five or six points.
Must feature stitched embellishment (show off your favorite embroidery or needlework stitches!).
Must be fully finished (edges joined and neatly trimmed/bound).
Must include a hanger securely attached for display.
Refrain from using beads and baubles on the star as these may go to small children as could be a choking hazard.

Present your finished star at our November meetings (November 17 or November 18).
