You can buy the Sashiko Coaster kit from Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/FREEBLOSS-Supplies-Embroidery-Beginners-Instructions/dp/B0D72XNPFP.
The finished size is no larger than 5 inches wide by 5 inches tall.
Stitching Techniques:
Running Stitch
Here is a supply list if you didn't buy the kit or may be sharing the kit with someone:
Sashiko Needle
A good substitute would be a darning, milliner, or crewel needle. They need to be a long needle with a large eye.
Sashiko Thread - this has a tighter twist compare to other thread, but you can also use pearl cotton, or embroidery floss.
Pre-printed fabric designed for Sashiko stitching. You can also use cotton, linen or sarashi fabric and create your own pattern.
Scissors/cutting tools
Rulers [if you are making your own pattern]
Marker, this will need to wash out if you need to mark the fabric.
Thimble
If the coaster kit isn't available on Amazon, you can visit a fantastic resource site to learn about the meditative Sashiko technique at https://www.zenstitching.ca/blog/sashiko-supplies.
Please add your progress or finished project in the comments!
